Concordia Seminary serves church and world by providing theological education and leadership centered in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ for the formation of pastors, missionaries, deaconesses, scholars, and leaders in the name of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Concordia Seminary is currently engaged in a search for a Full-Time Mid-Level Giving Manager to work in their Seminary Support Office.


Secures gifts for Concordia Seminary by cultivating, stewarding and retaining a portfolio of mid-level donors (those currently giving or capable of giving $1,000 to $5,000 annually) while also identifying those donors who can move into increased levels of giving. This position reports to the Executive Director of Seminary Support.


  • Nurture mid-level donors and manage the moves management process with a focus on retaining donors, upgrading gifts and acquiring new donors.
  • In consultation with other team members across the Seminary Advancement division, plan and implement communications strategies, including mail and email campaigns, events and other touches for cultivation, conversion and retention of mid-level donors.
  • Contribute to a robust pipeline of major donor prospects by identifying high-potential mid-level donors within your portfolio and proactively working to transfer donors to the major donor cultivation process.
  • Ensure donor recognition with timely acknowledgement and follow-up.
  • Ensure entry of correspondence and other touches with donors and prospects into our Raiser's Edge database.
  • Monitor evaluation metrics to track the financial impact of specific mid-level donor program strategies.


  • Bachelor's degree or other appropriate certification required.
  • Active membership in an LCMS congregation preferred, but not required.
  • Four or more years of experience in development or related area, including focused relationship building skills, customer service and/or consultative sales skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an annual marketing communication plan for donor audiences, conduct research to identify industry best practices, and develop and implement strategy.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy required. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, as well as web based databases.
  • Some travel involved, and ability to participate in evening or weekend events.
